Exhaustion

Exhaustion Text printed on Japanese Paper – Display Photo – Pop-Up Exhibition as part of What We Thought We Knew Exhibition at Koppel Project Station, London, July 2023.

Exhaustion is the result of a co-writing project with artists Lucy Chapman and Mark Burden.

This co-writing started with the simple premise of writing a text using the ‘cadavre exquis’ (Exquisite Corpse) method. We write one word at a time. This process is facilitated by current technology allowing working in real time on a shared document. This evolved when instead of typing the word, we used another great advance of technology: voice typing making the process more fluid and adding a new ‘participant’ to the process, the computer itself ‘who’ created some interesting interpretations of what we said.
